The latest advances in solar technology in Chile demonstrate the country's commitment to energy transition and the use of clean energy. In 2021, Enel Green Power Chile built the country's first industrial hybrid plant, called Azabache, which has approximately 154,170 latest-generation bifacial panels at the Valle de los Vientos wind farm. In addition, according to the International Energy Agency's (IEA) Global Markets report for 2020, Chile ranks fourth among countries with the highest photovoltaic penetration, with an 8.5% increase in photovoltaic electricity generation in the country.
